Atilla Çilingir Anlattı, Tarih Adeta Yeniden Canlandı

Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı'nın 52. yıl dönümü dolayısıyla KKTC İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu ile Kıbrıs Türk Kültür Derneği (KTKD) İstanbul Şubesi'nin ev sahipliğinde Artİstanbul Feshane'de düzenlenen resepsiyonda, Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı Gazisi, emekli yarbay ve yazar Atilla Çilingir ile uzun ve samimi bir sohbet gerçekleştirdik.

Atilla Çilingir bana, son eseri "Sonsuz Sevda" başta olmak üzere Kıbrıs üzerine kaleme aldığı kitapların yazılış hikâyelerini, yaşadığı savaş günlerini ve yıllar içinde biriktirdiği unutulmaz hatıraları anlattı.

Sohbetimiz sırasında, Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı'nın bilinmeyen yönlerini, Türk askerinin fedakârlıklarını ve Kıbrıs Türk halkının verdiği varoluş mücadelesini büyük bir içtenlikle paylaştı. Ayrıca Kıbrıs'ı konu alan kitaplarından birini de şahsıma imzalayarak armağan etti.

On the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, a magnificent reception was hosted by the Consulate General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Istanbul and the Istanbul Branch of the Cyprus Turkish Cultural Association (KTKD) at Artİstanbul Feshane. During the event, I had the privilege of having a long and sincere conversation with Atilla Çilingir, a veteran of the Cyprus Peace Operation, retired lieutenant colonel, and distinguished author.

Atilla Çilingir shared with me the inspiring stories behind his books on Cyprus, especially his latest novel, "Endless Love (Sonsuz Sevda)," as well as his unforgettable memories from the war and the experiences he has accumulated throughout the years. During our conversation, he sincerely spoke about the lesser-known aspects of the Cyprus Peace Operation, the sacrifices made by Turkish soldiers, and the determined struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people for survival. He also kindly presented me with an autographed copy of one of his books dedicated to Cyprus.

As our conversation continued, it became increasingly clear that Atilla Çilingir is not only a decorated veteran and accomplished author but also an important witness to history who has devoted himself to documenting real events and preserving the collective memory of the Turkish nation.
